A full tour of Deck AI — every metric, every tool, and every setting. Use this page as a reference when you're not sure what something on the site means or does.

Overview

Deck AI is a Clash Royale companion built around a neural network that predicts the outcome of any deck-versus-deck matchup. Every tool on the site — from popular-deck rankings to the Workshop deck-builder — is a different way of asking that model a question.

The model is trained on millions of real ladder and ranked matches. It considers the full 9-card composition of each deck, card synergies, matchups between individual cards, game mode, and card levels and evolutions/heroes.

This reference covers the metrics the site reports, the playlists decks can be evaluated in, every major tool, and the settings that change how predictions are produced for you specifically.

Metrics

Every deck on Deck AI is scored with the same set of metrics. You can hover or tap any metric on a deck card to see this same description inline.

Win rate

The predicted percentage of matches the deck will win in the selected playlist. Computed by the neural network using card composition, synergies, matchups, and — where applicable — player card levels. Unlike community sites that only show the win rate of tournament-level cards, Deck AI adjusts for the actual levels you (or the average ladder player) have.

Score

A composite quality metric used to rank decks. Score combines win rate with the four optimization priorities — low average elixir cost, low cycle cost, consistency, and confidence — and the exact weighting is configurable from the optimization settings. Change the priorities to make score reflect what you actually care about.

Elixir average

The mean elixir cost across the deck's 9 cards. A strong indicator of playstyle — lower-average decks lean toward cycle play, higher-average decks toward beatdown.

Elixir cycle

The total elixir cost of the deck's four cheapest cards. This is how much elixir you need to spend to guarantee the next play of any specific card. Lower is better for applying pressure and for getting win-condition cards back in hand quickly.

Consistency

A measure of how evenly a deck performs across the full spread of opposing decks in the playlist. A high-consistency deck might not have the highest peak win rate, but it has fewer hard-counter matchups.

Confidence

How well-attested the deck's cards are by real play. Computed from the frequencies of every card pair in the deck — a deck made of pairs that show up often in real matches has high confidence; a deck built from pairings the model has rarely seen has low confidence. Low-confidence predictions are still informed, but carry more uncertainty.

Rating

A summary metric that appears on multiple pages. The exact composition of rating differs by context — the deck rating on Popular Decks, a card's rating on the Cards page, and a player's Elo rating on the Leaderboard are all distinct numbers with different inputs. When you see "rating", read it in the context of the page you're on.

Popularity

The share of decks in the selected playlist that contain this card or use this deck. Popularity is a usage signal only — it doesn't say anything about how strong something is on its own.

Playlists

A playlist fixes the rules a deck is measured under: which card levels apply, which cards can be played, and which opponents it is scored against. There are six — Trophy Road, Ranked, Clan War, Classic 1v1, Ultimate Champion, and Chaos. Trophy Road, Ranked, and Classic 1v1 each come in two versions: an account-personalized version that uses your real card levels when you link your Clash Royale account, and a non-personalized version available to everyone without linking. Clan War is account-only — it can't be played non-personalized because of its four-deck-no-duplicates constraint. Ultimate Champion is always level-agnostic and draws from top-bracket decks. Chaos always plays with every card at level 11 and a restricted card pool.

Trophy Road

The standard Trophy Road mode in the game, with uncapped card levels. Predictions use your real card levels.

Ranked

Path of Legends in the game. Card levels are capped based on the league you're in. Also an account playlist: uses your card levels up to your league's cap when linked.

Clan War

Predictions for Clan War battles. Uses your account card levels when linked. Clan War decks have an extra constraint: you play four decks in a day and no card can repeat across them, so a Clan War deck is always evaluated as part of a no-duplicate four-deck set rather than being picked in isolation.

Classic 1v1

The Showdown mode in the game, played under a tournament-style level cap (level 11). When your account is linked, predictions use your card levels up to that cap.

Ultimate Champion

Draws from decks played in Ultimate Champion and evaluates them level-agnostically — your card levels aren't applied. This is the playlist to use when you want a read on the strongest top-bracket decks independent of your own progression.

Chaos

The C.H.A.O.S game mode in the game, where you choose card modifiers throughout the match. Every card plays at exactly level 11 — cards below 11 are raised to it, not just capped — so your own card levels don't matter, and decks are built from a restricted fixed card pool.

Core tools

Popular Decks

Ranked list of the strongest decks the model sees in the selected playlist. You can pick a 1-day or 7-day time window; sort by rating, win rate, or usage; filter by required and excluded cards; and change the playlist. This is the best place to look when the meta shifts after a balance patch and you want to know what's actually winning.

Cards

Every card in the game, ranked by rating in the current playlist. Use this when you want to know which cards are strong right now rather than starting from a full deck.

Card page

Clicking any card opens its detail page, which shows four lists — the card's strongest synergies (best pairings) and anti-synergies (worst pairings), and the cards it's strongest against and weakest against — plus the top 10 popular decks that include the card.

Matchup Calculator

Input any two decks and the model returns a predicted win rate. Free on any two-deck matchup. Premium unlocks the outcome analyzer (probabilities of scores like a 3-crown win) and deeper matchup analysis (per-card ratings and values for the matchup). Both decks are encoded in the page URL, so you can share a matchup by copying the link.

Counter Deck Generator

Enter opposing decks and the tool autofills a counter deck. Free for a single opposing deck. Premium adds:

  • Multi-deck counters: up to 20 opposing decks, each with a weight to bias the search.
  • Counter deck editing: lock in cards the counter deck must include, and exclude cards it can't use, before autofilling.
  • Duel / tournament mode: generates three counter decks for best-of-3 play instead of one.

Battle Log

Enter a player tag to pull their recent matches from the Clash Royale API and see the model's prediction for each one next to the actual outcome. Premium users additionally get the outcome analyzer, which breaks down each match into the probabilities of 3-crown, 2-crown, 1-crown, and loss outcomes. Your own battle log is linked from the navbar once you've connected your player tag.

Leaderboard

Top Ranked players for each monthly season going back to 2022, plus an all-time ranking that awards points based on finishing position across seasons (1st = 1000, 2nd = 600, and so on down to 50 points for a top-50 finish). Click a player to jump to their profile.

Moglist

The official Clash Royale mog ranking. A voting game: you're shown two cards and pick whichever looks best. Votes feed an Elo rating system that builds both a personal ranking and a global community ranking of every card by appearance. Signed-in accounts have their votes saved.

Tier List Maker

Build your own Clash Royale tier list by dragging every card from the unranked pool into the S, A, B, C, D, or F row. Search the pool to find a card quickly and export the finished list as a PNG to share. Signed-in accounts have their tier list saved automatically.

Spotlight

A seasonal editorial page collecting the most-broken cards right now, the latest blog post, standout leaderboard runs, featured community posts, and any active rewards.

Subscription tools

The Workshop requires Premium. The Playbook works on both Premium and Pro — Pro just gets more tokens per month (see Subscription tiers below for the full breakdown).

Workshop

The full deck-building tool. Premium-only. Includes:

  • Autofill: generate a deck from scratch, or complete a deck where some cards are already locked.
  • Card swap suggestions: once all card slots in the deck are filled, tap a card to see several strong replacements.
  • Win condition matchups viewer: see how the deck's win condition performs against each opposing win condition.
  • Card upgrade previews: see the win-rate impact of upgrading each individual card in the deck.
  • Clan War deck creator: generate 4 Clan War decks using your cards and levels, with no card repeated across the four decks.
  • Playlist selector: pick which playlist (Trophy Road, Ranked, Clan War, Classic 1v1, Ultimate Champion) to optimize for.

Playbook

A card-placement and usage reference. Available on Premium and Pro. Input a deck (or a specific matchup between two decks), pick a card, and the Playbook shows a heatmap of where the model places that card in early and late game, along with how its usage evolves over the course of a match. View mode can be switched between:

  • Matchup: the chosen card's placements specifically against the opposing deck.
  • General deck: its placements in this deck averaged across all matchups.
  • General card: average placement for the card across every deck and matchup, ignoring its current context.

Playbook calculations consume tokens — 1 token for a single-deck (general) analysis, 2 tokens for a full matchup. Premium subscriptions include 20 tokens per month; Pro subscriptions include 100.

Settings

Settings change how the model evaluates decks for you. They apply across Popular Decks, Workshop, Counter Deck Generator, and the Matchup Calculator. Open them from the gear icon next to any tool that supports customization.

Card levels

Controls which card levels the model uses when predicting.

  • Default: Uses your current in-game card levels, or standard levels if you have a non-account playlist selected.
  • Average: Ignores your account levels and uses the average card levels for the playlist.
  • Maximum: Ignores your levels and uses the maximum levels allowed by the playlist.
  • Upgrade: Uses your card levels but raises them based on how many copies of each card you have in-game.

Apply seasonal card boosts

When the game gives temporary level boosts to a rotating set of cards each season, this setting pulls those boosts into the prediction so the model evaluates the cards at their boosted strength rather than their base level.

Unlock all evolutions

Treat all card evolutions as unlocked, even ones your account doesn't own. Useful for planning which evolution slot is actually worth chasing.

Unlock all heroes

Same idea, but for hero versions of cards (the cards that have a hero variant). Enable this to let the model treat every hero as if you'd unlocked it, useful for planning which hero is actually worth chasing.

Manually boosted cards

A set of cards marked as boosted on top of whatever the playlist and seasonal-boost settings imply. Useful when you want to test how a specific card or set of cards changes the meta at higher levels.

Excluded cards

Cards the model is not allowed to use when building or optimizing decks. Use this when you don't own a card, dislike playing it, or are testing a specific constraint.

Optimization priorities

Four independent priorities, each set to None, Low, Medium, or High, that control what the score formula rewards:

  • Low average elixir cost priority — prefers cheaper decks.
  • Low cycle cost priority — prefers decks with a cheaper four-card cycle.
  • Consistency priority — prefers decks that perform evenly across matchups.
  • Confidence priority — prefers decks built from well-attested card pairings.

Trial count

How many iterations of deck searches the autofill runs. Raising the trial count makes the autofill run longer and produces more consistent results, but typically has little impact past 3.

Autofill different win conditions

Generates a separate deck for each trial, each built around a different win condition, so you get a variety of decks to choose from instead of one result. Win conditions you place yourself before autofilling stay in every deck, while later trials exclude the win conditions the autofill added in earlier trials. When it finishes, pick the deck you want and the rest are cleared. Requires a trial count above 1 and does not apply to clan war.

Account and subscription

You can use most of Deck AI without an account, but signing in unlocks personalized predictions and saves your settings across devices.

Signing in and linking your player tag

Sign in through Google or Apple. Once signed in, enter your player tag on the profile page to link your Clash Royale account. After linking, predictions on the account playlists (Trophy Road, Ranked, Clan War) use your actual card levels, unlocked evolutions, and unlocked heroes by default.

Subscription tiers

There are three tiers, each billed monthly (with a 20% discount for the 3-month plan) through Stripe. Subscriptions can be canceled any time from the profile page; access stays active through the end of the current billing cycle. Full terms are in the Terms of Service.

  • Basic (free): Popular Decks, Matchup Calculator (single matchup), Battle Log (predicted vs actual outcomes), and the Counter Deck Generator for a single opposing deck.
  • Premium: everything in Basic, plus the Workshop, multi-deck and tournament mode in the Counter Deck Generator, deeper matchup analyses, the outcome analyzer in the Battle Log and Matchup Calculator, a playlist selector on Popular Decks, access to the Playbook, and 20 Playbook tokens per month.
  • Pro: same tools as Premium, but with 100 Playbook tokens per month instead of 20.
